If you've ever repaired worn hinge points on loader arms or buckets, you know the process involves cleaning up worn areas and attempting to weld in new bushings. The BB3000 portable line boring machine enables precision machining to restore bores to their original size, even when wear is minimal. If hinge points are severely damaged and require replacement parts with slightly smaller bores, this equipment ensures that new dimensions are precisely aligned with the original specifications.
Boring Capacity
• When equipped with the boring bar and tool bit, the boring diameter range is 1.5–5 inches (38.1–127.0 mm).
• The 1.25-inch (31.75 mm) diameter boring bar can be custom ordered in lengths, with increments of 1 foot (304.8 mm).
• The SAE (inch) version of the boring bar features holes for 3/8-inch square tool bits every 6 inches (152.4 mm) or 10 inches (254.0 mm); the metric version accommodates 10 mm square tool bits.
• The clamp-type tool head is suitable for a boring diameter range of 3.25–5 inches (76.2–127.0 mm).
Powerful Performance
• Powered by a 1.0 HP (0.74 kW) universal motor driving a 7.5:1 reduction gearbox, delivering up to 90 ft-lbs (122 N·m) of torque to the boring bar.
• Two-speed motor: At 120V AC, the boring bar's no-load free speed is 80–150 RPM; at 230V AC, the no-load free speed is 68–120 RPM, with an operating current of 2–2.2 amps.
• Maximum metal removal rate when machining C1018 steel is up to 1 cubic inch per minute (16.4 cm³/min).
Compact Design
• The rotary drive extends only 19 inches (482.6 mm) from the mounting bracket, and the distance from the boring bar to the top of the motor is 14 inches (355.6 mm). If space is restricted, the motor of the rotary drive can be mounted at any position around the boring bar.
• The rotary drive unit, complete with feed rack and anti-rotation mechanism, weighs only 35 lbs (15.9 kg).
Automatic Power Feed
• Features a continuously variable, reversible power feed with a maximum travel of 10 inches (254.0 mm). An automatic feed stop mechanism disengages the feed at the end of the 10-inch travel.
• Feed rate range is 0–0.018 inches per revolution (0–0.46 mm/rev).
